Hebraic Musing – What Symbolism Did God Utilize in His
Ten Words?
I saw another “Treasure” in the original
Hebrew. Our Torah study from Exodus 20
included the “Ten Words”, sometimes miss-translated as “commandments”. Consider the parallel symbolic messages
derived from each of the first 10 Hebrew characters in the Hebrew alphabet
(Aleph–Bet):

of God “Honor
Father & Mother”
Moral obligation is obvious. They are the authority God placed over us.
Children honor, listen to their parents - Father of fiefdom/family;
Jewish mother should get same respect from children! Children bring
joy to parents. It’s not parents’ responsibility to bring joy to children!

Closed Hand Arm/Work “Coveting”
Smallest letter, most insidious sin! Jesus said “Don’t even think about it”
Dissatisfied with work of your hands? Reaching hand out to hold?
Our mind is the devil’s playground; and the start of all previous sins.

Points to ponder
How
