Part 1 – Has America
upheld its founding Christian principles, thus deserving God’s blessings?
Part 2 – What has happened to the all other nations and people groups?
Part 3 – What can we do or should we do to save America? And why? (for God’s sake!)
Part 2 – What has happened to the all other nations and people groups?
Part 3 – What can we do or should we do to save America? And why? (for God’s sake!)
In the last two weeks, we explored America’s moral decline
and disdain for God’s blessings; blessings that were an integral role in the
founding of and nature of our nation.
And we saw parallel examples across history where no other nation has
survived after such blatant disobedience and defiance.
Let’s answer these questions in Part 3 – What can we do? Or what should we do? And who are the “we”?
The LORD warned Solomon that there would be a time when “I shut up the heavens so that there is no
rain, or command locusts to devour the land or send a plague among my people,”
in 2 Chronicles 7:13 NIV. And then the
LORD continued with the familiar and necessary solution in vs. 14. What was
the LORD trying to tell Solomon and us to do in that one simple, powerful and
familiar verse?
“if my people,” the “if” implies conditions. “my people” refers to all of God’s creation
whom He loves
“who are called by my name,” those would be the Israelites and/or Christians; named after Israel or Christ
“will humble themselves” by putting God in first place; instead of our worldly/fleshly and sinful desires
“and pray” by calling out to the LORD, instead of relying so heavily on our worldly solutions to problems
“and seek my face” to really understand who God is and what He wants from us
“and turn from their wicked ways,” requiring repentance, giving up our sinful ways. Yes, all of them!!!
“then” and only then; result(s) are conditioned on the satisfactory response(s) to the “if” statement
“will I hear from heaven” The LORD will have heaven’s total support to work with the people
“and will forgive their sin” which the people have acknowledged, and turned from when repenting
“and will heal their land.” Finally, the LORD GOD will now restore the original blessings to the nation/land.

Who needs to do
this? We cannot expect those who do not believe or
those who deny God to comply. But the
Church of Jesus Christ and its genuine believers had better start complying. And, if this genuine revival were to occur, I
wonder how many of the “non-believers” will become believers and comply?
How does it start? How
about with you? How many individual
Bible characters with no special worldly credentials answered a call from God
and started revivals? A – Noah, Abraham,
Moses, Joseph, Isaiah (and each of the major and minor prophets), Nehemiah (to
rebuild Jerusalem) and each of those young Apostles. Each of them recognized and believed in
Almighty God and decided to give their lives for Kingdom work.
Points to
ponder
Are we still
counting on God to give America a second chance? Good luck!
Which is easier – To bury ones head in the sand, or to face a disastrous inevitable?
Which is easier – To bury ones head in the sand, or to face a disastrous inevitable?
Do we take
God’s goodness & mercy for granted?
Does this
mean we have to give up ALL of our “wicked ways”?
(Ask Jesus if that’s what He meant. I double-dog dare you!)

Why do we neglect God in good times and then
seek Him in times of need.
Has today’s
church outgrown the truth of God’s word?

Could you be
like Jonah was to Nineveh?
